Enjoy browsing our delightful Antiques store and experiencing a part of the history of Snowflake, Arizona. Delight in our old fashioned Ice Cream Soda Bar a part of the restoration of our historic 1892 building. Ice cream, sandwiches, soaps, sodas, malts, shakes and soft drinks are part of the items sold at the Soda Bar.



It's worth the trip to see our restored Flake Mercantile and Social Hall and hear the story of the founding of the Town of Snowflake and the story of Snowflake's only shoot-out. Tombstone has the shoot-out at the OK Corral, Snowflake has the shoot-out at the OK Boarding House!

Our building, circa 1892, was originally the Flake Brothers Mercantile, selling everything from horseshoe nails, to the latest suites or dresses from Chicago. Upstairs became a Social hall hwere weddings, receptions, dinners and plays were performed. In 1910 the Academy (High School) suffered a fire and the classes were moved to the Social Hall. In February 1912, the shop (woodworking class) started a fire that destroyed the Social Hall and the store. In 1912, the Flake Brothers rebuilt the mercantile store, but did not rebuild the Social Hall. Over the years, our store became many things: a grocery store, a Western Auto store, a video store and a computer repair store. The beautiful orginal store front was replaced with aluminum and glass front and it lost the origina l splendor and looks of a turn of the century building.



In July of 1999, Dean & Sandra Porter purchased the building and set about to restore it as it was in 1892, including the Social Hall. Now, downstairs is a beautiful antique store and soda fountain.
